Corto.Alto – JAZZMI
Straight from swinging Glasgow, JAZZMI opens its doors to “one of the freshest and most
vital projects in British jazz,” as described by The Guardian. Corto.Alto, the moniker of young
composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Liam Shortall, is a project with a truly
international flavor. His music brings together a wide range of influences and styles, blending
jazz improvisation with electronic production, broken beat, dub, and hip-hop references. His
debut on the music scene marked an immediate breakthrough: his first album “Bad With
Names” was shortlisted for the iconic Mercury Prize (2024), won Best Album at the Scottish
Jazz Awards, and earned him Artist of the Year at the Jazz FM Awards (2025).
